Education
Sem obtained his degree in Dutch law at the University of Amsterdam in 2002.
Experience
Since 2005 Sem has been teaching intellectual property law at the InHolland University of Applied Sciences to students International Music Management. Sem also teaches regularly at the New Business School of Amsterdam. In 2008, Sem founded Van Heemstra Bakker together with Hugo van Heemstra. Sem joined Rohe Advocaten as a partner in June 2010.
From 1994 to 2008, Sem composed and played bass guitar in the band "Caesar", performing both in the Netherlands as well as abroad. Caesar released a total of 5 albums and had two hits. The second album won them the prestigious "Silver Harp" award.
Sem is member of the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers (I.A.E.L).
Jonathan Barth

Education
Jonathan studied French at Aix-en-Provence, before he went to university. He graduated
from Utrecht University in 1997 with a degree in notarial law. While working full
time, Jonathan graduated in Dutch civil law in 2001 and was admitted to the bar at
the University of Amsterdam. In 2005 Jonathan trained as a master in the Alternative
Dispute Resolution Institute of Amsterdam.

Experience
Jonathan started as a civil law notary with De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek. He managed several cross-border transactions, including listings in multiple jurisdictions, and advised on corporate matters, including international partnerships and tax structures. In 2001 Jonathan joined the Amsterdam law firm Wieringa Advocaten as a lawyer. He litigated in various matters including construction, architecture and commercial contracts. He also acted as a liquidator in insolvencies. In 2010 Jonathan co- founded Rohe Advocaten with Hugo van Heemstra and Sem Bakker.
Hugo van Heemstra

Education
Hugo graduated from Utrecht University in 2000 with a degree in Dutch civil law. In 2001, Hugo obtained a masters degree (LL.M.) International Trade and Business Law at Fordham University School of Law in New York. In 2007, Hugo trained as a mediator at the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Amsterdam.
Experience
Hugo started as an attorney in 2001 with the Amsterdam law firm Stibbe where he worked in the field of corporate law (mergers and acquisitions) and intellectual property litigation. From 2005 till 2007 Hugo worked at Brinkhof as a litigator in the field of intellectual property and commercial contracts. In 2007, Hugo co-founded Van Heemstra Bakker with Sem Bakker and in 2010 Hugo and Jonathan Barth joined forces to found Rohe Advocaten.
Maarten Hilberdink

Maarten Hilberdink lived and worked in the United States for a number of years prior to studying Law. Maarten has been admitted to the Amsterdam Bar since 1999. Maarten specialises in employment law and successfully completed the Post Academic Course for Employment Law (PALA). Maarten is a member of the Dutch Employment Lawyers Association (VAAN). In addition to dismissal procedures and negotiations on redundancy payments, Maarten has extensive knowledge with respect to the right of participation, reorganisations and redundancy plans, collective bargaining agreements, wages and fees, non competition and business relation clauses, incapacity for work, pension schemes, management contracts and other aspects of employment law. Among other areas, Maarten is active in the advertising industry and in education.

Our rates are established in consultation with our client. Relevant factors are the type of case, the type of enterprise and the value which Rohe Advocaten can add.
